God’s economy rewards generosity with purpose-driven success.

When we hear the word “tithing,” we often think of giving from our personal income. But what about tithing from your business? If God is the true owner of your company, then honoring Him with the first fruits of your profits is not just an act of obedience. It is an act of faith and worship.
In Malachi 3:10, God says, “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse… Test me in this… and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing.” This is the only place in Scripture where God invites us to test Him. When we give back to Him from our business, we position ourselves to receive blessings that go far beyond finances.
Tithing as a business owner is about more than writing a check. It is about dedicating your company to God’s work. It’s about funding ministries, supporting those in need, and making sure your profits serve a higher purpose. When you trust God with your resources, He uses them to change lives, and in the process, He takes care of your business.
There may be moments when giving feels impossible. Bills are due. Payroll is tight. Sales are slow. But this is where faith takes the lead. Proverbs 11:25 reminds us, “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” When you choose generosity in hard seasons, God shows up in ways only He can.
John D. Rockefeller once said, “I never would have been able to tithe the first million dollars I ever made if I had not tithed my first salary, which was $1.50 per week.” This reminds us that generosity starts where we are. Big blessings begin with small acts of faithful giving. The same principle applies to business. Start with what you have, and watch God multiply it.
The takeaway from this blog is clear. When you make tithing part of your business plan, you align your company with God’s Kingdom. You give Him control over your finances and trust Him to provide what you need to grow and thrive.
Here’s your call to action. Take time this week to pray over your business finances. Ask God how He wants you to give. Start setting aside a portion of your profits for Kingdom work. Remember, your business is not just for profit. It is for purpose.
